Who doesn’t like playing video games? Video games are fun to play with friends, family, alone, etc. They help us be entertained and let our emotions out. Popular video games that many people play include: Super Mario, Call of Duty (COD), Grand Theft Auto (GTA), Animal Crossing, and many more. All those games are great, but a game I enjoy playing is Pikmin 3 Deluxe. 

What is Pikmin?

Pikmin comes from the name of the creatures in the game. According to Nintendo, Pikmin are tiny creatures that are plant-based. They come in different shapes and colors. They are curious about their surroundings and are helpful in the game. 

What is the game about?

The game is one of many series of “Pikmin’’ games. Pikmin 3 Deluxe sets you in a story where a group of explorers are looking for food on other planets to bring back to their planet. The explorers are Alph, Brittany, and Charlie. The spaceship has malfunctioned causing all the crew members to be in different locations on a planet that they are not familiar with. You find yourself as a crew member and see some strange creatures (Pikmin) near you. You, as any crew member, and the Pikmin work together to find all crewmates and survive on this unknown planet. 

What type of game is Pikmin 3 Deluxe?

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a strategic game. You will have to think in order to find solutions to a “problem” you come across. Furthermore, you will also want to manage your time. Making sure you do a lot can help you not waste time and advance further in the game. If you waste time, that can lead up to you dying and restarting the game no matter how far you got. 

Does it only have the main story to do?

Pikmin does not only have the main story for you to complete, but also other things you can do, too. One of those “things” you can do is a side mission. The side mission will give a different story that is associated with the main story. You can also do challenges. One challenge is how many fruits can you collect in a certain amount of time that is given. All of these are fun to do and add more to the game. 

Those that have played the game, why do they like it? 

Yosselin Juarez, my sibling who has played this game, gives feedback on why she enjoys this game. “I think I like Pikmin because it’s fun and it has these tiny creatures,Pikmin, and I think they are cute and adorable. What makes it fun? I think something that makes it fun is that I am able to play with you and it’s like we both rely on each other to complete the game, so it’s interactive and I think it’s a way we can spend time together.”   

Lastly, where can I play Pikmin 3 Deluxe?

Pikmin 3 Deluxe and all other Pikmin series can be played on a Nintendo Switch, 3DS, or Wii U. You can play solo or duo. Lately, the creators of Pikmin have also created a mobile app for the Pikmin series called “Pikmin Bloom.” 

Overall, Pikmin is an underrated game that everyone should give a try. It really is fun and enjoyable!
