The story of MoneySign $uede has lots of dramatic turns and he had to face lots of problems.

MoneySign $uede, or Jaime Brugada Valdez, was originally born in Huntington Park and grew up in that area. He lived with his five sisters as well as some of his nieces and nephews. His mom and dad were separated and never lived together, but Jaime’s mom always tried to support him with any of the things he liked. During his teenage years, he had many hobbies such as skateboarding, boxing, bike riding, and he also liked to rap.

When he was growing up, he decided to really take his rapping career seriously and started rapping at the age of 16. In one of his interviews with podcaster DoKnows World, Jaime had said that he wanted to take it seriously because he wanted to pay his mom back for all his mistakes that he caused her and because he never liked to see his mom working a minimum wage job, especially since he never had a father around.

While deciding how to plan his way to start rapping, Jaime had some true friends who were always there for him and wanted to see his dreams become accomplished. Peysoh, Swifty Blue,  and Bravo The Bagchaser were the main ones who supported his dreams. One of Jaime’s most known songs was “Back To The Bag” that he released on May 5, 2020, after he was released from jail.

Most of his fans refer to him as the Mexican Kodak Black because of the way he rapped in his songs. Jaime never took it the wrong way since he said he always listened to Kodak growing up and thought it was a compliment because he was getting recognized as one of the most  famous rappers in the world, but still felt that he is MoneySign $uede since he made his own name recognized.

While recently getting locked up in the Correctional Training Facility, Soledad, one of California’s state prisons, he felt that he never wanted to go back there since he wanted to change his life for good. Jaime never felt that being in prison was going to do him any good for his future.  He’d also wanted to have a kid before he went into prison.

In one of his last letters he sent to his girlfriend, he wrote, “Just in case I don’t make it I’ll be waiting for you up there…. All I know is stay strong and stay solid till I’m gone, but it’s like that might be the end of me.”  Sadly, on April 25, 2023, Jaime was killed in the state prison while in the bathroom. He has left his whole family and fans scarred from his loss since he was an upcoming rapper at the age of 22.

Many younger people were inspired by him and were very hurt when they heard what happened to him. One of our own students, eighth grader Jorge Rios, said, “It’s really horrible for the people to know about his death because he was an inspiration to the younger generation.”

His tragic death led so many people to feel bad for what had happened to him while in the situation he was in. Eighth grader Misael Pascual said, “I felt sad because he was killed in jail and I wouldn’t have wanted to die in jail without being able to see my family again.”
