On March 9, 2014, the day finally came for the Students Run LA team, the LA Marathon. This was an important day for SRLA because they have dedicated most of their time on running and have been putting all their effort in this program.

SRLA seventh grade runner, Isaac Mayoral felt super nervous yet excited when he started running the LA Marathon. “While running by mile thirteen what really helped me was that I had my family’s full support, so I told myself to keep on going.”

SRLA eighth grade runner, Moises Lopez felt super excited to run the marathon again. “While running in the marathon and looking up to the red mark saying ‘25 mile”, I felt like I can abolish the road.”

While running the LA Marathon our team members felt super tired yet excited running. There were new and returning runners running the LA Marathon. The weather also affected them because in the morning it was cold and while running the heat really bothered them running but they kept on going no matter what. Even though it was 26.2 miles they kept on trying and even experienced something new.
