Culmination Requirements

At  AJCMS all 8th grade students are almost ready to culminate on June 6 ,2018. All students are excited to culminate and finally move on and go to high school. The past few years at AJCMS they have learned a lot, just like knowing how our school works or what happens there. The most important things students want or need to know about are the culmination requirements. This is extremely important because most of the students wait until later of the school year to know what they need to do to be successful and culminate.

Emily Herrera is an 8th grade student at AJCMS and is anxious to culminate. She knows that you’re supposed to have a 1.0 and over to be able to culminate, “Something I know about culminating is that you can have a GPA over 1.0,” said Emily Herrera “ I do believe that I am on the right track because I have good grades. I’m almost on 3.0, I believe that people are trying to do their best, in this case most people have bad grades, but they’re trying their best,” said Emily, meaning that most of the students are trying their best to raise up their grades so they can culminate.

Ilse Gonzalez, an 8th and 6th grade teacher at AJCMS, knows all about the requirements and what to do to culminate. “ The requirements is that you need to pass all your classes, you must have no F’s, so you must have a minimum of 1.0 GPA. and you need to come

to school everyday and on time,” said Gonzalez, talking about how you need to be responsible and come early and try not to be late, as well as passing your classes and having no F’s. Gonzalez says that you need to try your best and be on your best behavior as well as complete class expectations. “ Last but not least you need to meet all school and class expectation, okay so be on your best behavior and if any students are on trackers they will not be part of any activities until they get off the tracker,” said Gonzalez. “ But it’s not a lot, for the most part once we remind kids to do what they’re supposed to do, then everybody wants to graduate,” said Gonzalez, explaining how when a students gets reminded on what to do, they’ll work hard and they will see it payed off and they will graduate.

Patricia Carrillo, the counselor at AJCMS, also knows about the requirements and what is needed to culminate. “One you can not have any F’s, you must pass your classes and you need to  come to school on time,” said Carrillo, explaining to us about the important steps needed to culminate. Showing the importance you really need to come to school on time as well have no F’s in your classes. Carrillo thinks that it’s not hard to culminate if you work hard and try your best this will be easy, “I don’t think it’s hard when you put your mind on it,” said Carrillo. “It’s going to pay off one day, and get a job one day, I think it’s worth it,” said Carrillo meaning that if you try it’s going to pay off and you will have a job.

This means that all students should try their best and try to do well in middle school as well in high school. It’s important you keep track of your grades and how you’re doing because this can really affect your future and how well you do. All this hard work will pay off soon if you still keep on trying.
