What happened to Kanye West when running for president?

Kanye West’s controversial announcement that he is running for president on July 4, 2020.

Kanye West is known for many things. You most likely know about his run for the presidency that didn’t go quite as planned.  On July 4th 2020 he announced that he would be a candidate for president. He got about 60,000 votes, according to BBC news, even though he was one of the well known candidates. Some lesser known candidates, like Jo Jorgensen, racked up about 1.5 million votes.

One of the main reasons he probably got so few votes was because he didn’t make it onto many ballots. He only made it onto the ballot of 12 states. This means that probably most of his followers didn’t get a chance to vote for him. Who knows if he would have been president if he was on the ballot of every state. The aspiring president, as surprising as it may seem, has never voted in his life. According to an interview published by Forbes, West revealed that he had never voted in his life. He also told us that his presidential campaign name “Birthday Party” came from the fact that if he wins the election it would be everyone’s birthday.

West is known for controversy, whether it be with Kim Kardashian, urinating on his Grammy, or presidential conflicts. He always talks about controversial things and this year he didn’t fail. In the interview with Forbes, when talking about the Covid vaccine West didn’t say it was needed or that he thought people should get vaccinated, but the exact opposite. He said that he was suspicious of the vaccine, he thought that it was the infamous “Mark of the Beast,” and he didn’t stop there. He said he planned a new White House modeled from the secretive country of Wakanda from the movie Black Panther and that he believes white supremacists do the Devil’s Work by putting Planned Parenthood clinics in cities.

Even though he didn’t win the election last year this might not be the last time we hear about him. According to The Guardian, he plans to run again in the next presidential election. At least now he will have time to get on every state ballot. Who knows, he might actually become president.

I don’t know about you, but whether it was the devil’s work that he didn’t become president or his poor punctuality, we are probably better with our actual president and how he’s handling things.
