This is Judlisa!

Judlisa is a student at AJMS who is trying to reach all her goals. She tries her best in school and has goals for her future. She gets inspired by kids and teachers.

Her biggest inspiration is her mom and she looks up to her. She likes to help her niece and loves her cousins. She is a very hardworking person.

Keyla Francisco: Tell me about yourself.
Judlisa Vasquez: I like cooking and I like doing math. Math is my favorite subject.
KF: That’s good and what’s your name?
JV: Judlisa.
KF: Okay, umm I’m gonna ask you some questions like what do you want to be when you grow up?
JV: Umm, probably a teacher or a doctor.
KF: So, what makes you want to be a teacher?
JV: I get inspired by kids and some teachers.
KF: Thats good. Umm, what are some goals for you for this school year?
JV: Umm, to get A’s on all of my classes.
KF: What steps will you take to get those grades? 
JV: Umm probably going to office hours and probably like umm paying attention.
KF: Okay umm d- does distance learning make school difficult?
JV: Yeah sometimes but not that much.
KF: Who is your inspiration and who is it that you look up to? 
JV: My mom ’cause she explain to me how to cook and she works hard.
KF: Okay. Do you like this school why or why not?
JV: Um, I don’t like this school. Well, sometimes I do but it’s kinda boring and yea.
KF: What is something people might not know about you?
JV: That I’m selfish. [Laughs]
KF: [Laughs] Umm, what has been the happiest moment of your life?
[Background talking] 
JV: Umm, wait can you repeat the question again? 
[Pauses recording to repeat the question]
JV: The happiest moment in my life, me and my niece.
KF: What was the moment- what happened in that moment with your niece that made it the happiest? 
JV: Umm, I had fun with her and sometimes she cries and I like help her.
KF: Okay that’s good. What do you like best about yourself?
JV: That umm I know how to cook and umm I like doing some random things.
KF: What is an example of a random thing that you would do?
JV: Probably hit someone or tell them something that they don’t like.
KF: Umm what is an event that have- that has changed your life?
JV: An event that changed my life is my cousins cause they inspire me to love myself and yeah.
KF: Alright, what is the most challenging thing about school?
JV: The most challenging thing in school is learning how to do stuff and write.
KF: Alright, umm do you have a favorite teacher or staff?
JV: I have a favorite staff. His name is Mr…umm G.
KF: Oh yeah, he’s really nice. What is your favorite school subject?
JV: Math.
KF: Do you think school is a positive or negative thing?
JV: Positive cause you could like get to where you want to get to. Like, let’s say you want to be a teacher or something else, then you’d have to like learn things from there.
KF: Alright. Do you have a favorite place to go and why? 
JV: I like going to Santa Monica cause it’s like far. In the night time we can like see things in the dark and we can see like animals and dolphins or something.
KF: Okay. Umm, do you have any inspirational words?
JV: Umm, do your best and try hard.
KF: Okay, what are some things that you do to try your best and work hard?
JV: Umm probably like think in my brain and umm try umm, try to like umm, try to like..
KF: If you don’t know that’s okay. [laughs] What was your childhood like?
JV: It was not that great cause I had a childhood that was not that bad and some are bad.
KF: What were some bad things that happened in your childhood?
JV: Probably a girl hit me and she hit me like twice. 
KF: What is your favorite book and why? 
JV: My favorite book is The Hate U Give cause it talks about umm African Americans… having, having like, having to fight white people cause it’s if they’re racist.
KF: Alright, umm I believe that you switched schools to come to this middle school and left elementary cause you’ve passed elementary. Umm how was it like or how did it feel like to change schools? 
JV: Hmm kinda difficult but I got used to it. 
KF: Umm what was the saddest moment of your life? 
JV: The saddest moment was in my life was that my grandparents had to leave.
KF: Do you feel like you did your best during online learning or was it like really difficult to focus?
JV: It was really difficult to focus cause I didn’t learn that much.
KF: Okay, is that all you had to say? 
JV: Yeah.
