What came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?
Have you ever heard this question, “What came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?” Well if you have, did you know how to respond because many people are confused about the question. My friend Melane Abrajan said, “I never really thought about this question but now that you mention it, I really am confused about which came first, the chicken or the chicken egg because in many ways the chicken egg could have came first but at the same time the chicken could have came first.”
Most people don’t know how to answer this question because you can’t have a chicken without an egg but at the same time you can’t have an egg without a chicken. But luckily I am here to answer the question so you won’t have to be confused anymore.
Have you ever thought about where this myth comes from? Well, according to Discover Wildlife it says that the myth about what came first, the chicken or the egg comes from the first century (100 AD). This myth has confused many people from the first century all the way to the 21st century. This myth makes people confused because many people think that the chicken came first but sometimes other people think that the chicken egg came first.
Why do people think the chicken came first? People think that the chicken came first because without a chicken there would be no chicken egg. But at the same time people think the chicken came first because the chicken has to lay an egg in order for it to be considered a chicken egg.
Why do people think the egg came first? People think the egg came first because you need an egg to hatch a chicken. In addition people think the first true chicken came from an egg.
What actually came first, the chicken or the chicken egg? Well according to Australian Academy of Science it says that the chicken egg came first because two proto-chickens mated and the very first chicken was born from the egg. Which answers the question that the chicken egg came first.

Something I found interesting is that the myth was around the first century and it carried along all the way to the 21st century.
