Downtown L.A. in my eyes
When I first moved to DTLA, I was scared to go on walks down town because in the news I always saw bad and negative things being reported down there–like assaults, trash-fires, homicides, etc. I used to live in Florence, near Huntington Park, a place where for my whole life rarely any negative stereotypes were put. I never thought things would change, and I doubted they would, but things can’t stay the same forever so I had to forcefully adapt to [what I used to think was] an ugly and drug-abusing people infested part of Los Angeles. That’s what came to mind when I thought of downtown (which is kind of true but not in ALL places like how I thought), until I started noticing and admiring how all those modern-glass buildings look like when light hits them in the morning and at sunset.
