With many school shootings going on, is AJCMS ready?

March 28, 2014

AJCMS is a closed campus and it is secure, but are they prepared for a shooting?

We all know the famous school shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012. The name of the school, Sandy Hook Elementary School. Since 26 deaths occurred in this school, we know that the adults at the main office weren’t prepared. The only thing the teachers told each other after hearing some shootings was, ”Shooter!, Stay put!” and that was only heard by some of the teachers.

A school security drill states that every school needs a practice for a respond in case of a shooting.

They will call “code orange” which indicates there is a risk of a local terrorist according to http://louisacounty.va.schoolwebpages.com/. Figueroa also said that they will attack the shooter.

Overall, AJCMS is clearly ready for a shooting.
