Seventh grade English and  journalism teacher Carl Finer is a finalist to receive a Golden Dot Award. He has put a lot of work into trying to make the school better and for this he has a chance of receiving a Golden Dot award.

He said, “I know the other candidates and believes I have a one in three chance in winning.” Finer says that he feels surprised that he is a finalist and feels nervous. He feels this way because he tries not to attract attention, is shy about things like this and tries not to make a big deal about this kind of recognition.

Finer also feels honored to be a finalist to receive a Golden Dot award. Finer said if he wins, ” I would thank everyone and go for a run, otherwise I’m not too sure what I would do if I won because I’m shy.” He thinks he has has a  great chance of winning and will find out on March 15.
