“One, I like being curious and learning about new things and getting to know new people and trying to have an impact through, like, communicating through words. And then being able to get to like do that and share that with students, like I think it’s important as a teacher to do the work too and if I’m teaching students how to write and read and to be curious then I should be doing that too… I think it’s really rewarding because no days are ever the same and you get to explore your interests and interesting things and you can have an impact… But I think the process of writing is really rewarding for anybody whether it’s something you get paid to do or not and whether it’s a full time job or something they just do on the side. Just being curious about yourself and the world and putting yourself out there I think is really valuable.”

I think this quote from the interview could be used to encourage somebody that is thinking about being a teacher.
