The problem I see in our community is dog homelessness.
According to mars.com/news-and-stories/press-releases-statem, there are “143 million dogs living on the street and 12 million dogs in shelters.” The main cause of the problem is people abandoning their dogs because they are unable to take care of them anymore.
Statistics from vanderpumpdogs.org/our-blog/pets-amp-homelessness-in-lanbsp indicate that “A whopping 72,000 stray animals are placed into shelters each year in LA alone.” Research also shows that millions of dogs are being killed because there are not enough homes for them. According to dosomething.org/us/facts/11-facts-about-animal-homelessness, “Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren’t enough adoptive homes.” This means that about 2.7 million dogs are getting killed because shelters could not hold any more and that there are not enough people adopting a dog. This proves that dogs on the streets are a big problem because shelters get overcrowded and they have to kill most of the dogs because there are a lot on the streets.
My solution to this problem is donating to make more shelters to house more dogs. If people donated there will be less dogs on the street and there would be more places for dogs to stay.

I learned that there are many stray dogs and they need homes, but people do their best for that all the strays puppies get to have a home instead of the streets.
