Runner’s speak about the L.A. Marathon
On Sunday March ninth, Students Run LA members ran a 26.2 marathon that started at Dodgers Stadium and ended at Santa Monica Beach.
Teacher Carl Finer said, “I’m usually always stressed and hardly get enough sleep because of all the things I have to do the night before the marathon. All the stress disappears when I’m finally in the corral and see the students about to start. I get real proud to see that all the students made it here. I felt really tired because of the time change and I had to put on my sunglasses on while it was still dark. The plan is to do it next year too.” Finer finished at three hours forty-three minutes.
Cesar Ruiz said, “I felt scared and worried because what if I didn’t finish. I was also exited because it was my first full marathon and I wanted to receive my medal after the race. I was planing to finish like in 6 hours.” Cesar finished the run at seven hours twenty-one minutes.
All of the students hoped to finish the marathon and get home safely, which they did. They were very proud of finishing, but also very tired.
