Kayla Sagastume: Who impacted your childhood?
Miles: My, the impact of my childhood is my mother, she gave like we were able to be ourselves, cartoons and everything, like toys, umm going out, everything. My mom made our childhood amazing, family vibes.
KS: How would you think your childhood would be if your mom wasn’t that like impacted in your life?
M: Umm, I grew up in a tough neighborhood, I would probably be in the streets doing something I’m not supposed to, so thanks to her kept us well rounded and were able to- I’m here now.
KS: Who else has impacted your childhood other than your mom?
M: Umm outside of my mom, it was my childhood hero, Kobe Bryant. Watching basketball kept my-kept it, actuality got me into playing basketball so that kept me from doing things in the street, so legit, a basketball player was my role model.
KS: And how did you find about your favorite basketball player?
M: Well we live in LA. You see it everywhere so TV, you know? Watching your first Lakers game on the TV, Showtime. [inaudible] So yeah, TV.
KS: Umm.
M: You want me to add more to it?
KS: Yeah.
M: Alright, so umm, favorite childhood memory would have to be, or what made my childhood great, was cartoons. All throwback cartoons, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon. Man… there was um, TV. TV, umm, it sounds, I mean outside was fun too. We went to the parks a lot too, but man, come on Saturday morning, cereal and cartoons, amazing.
KS: And what was your go-to cartoon?
M: Umm as a kid, none. You, whatever came on, that thing, cause you didn’t have a TV Guide to pick a cartoon. So you have to like, legit, so if you had Courage the Cowardly Dog or Invaders Zim, you know, whatever came on, that line up, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Do, so whatever came on, I was all for it. As long as I got my cereal, we’re good.
KS: Do you have a favorite cereal?
M: Heck yeah, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, number one.
KS: Do you still watch cartoons till this day?
M: Yup, I have kids so yea, all the throwbacks I watched, they watch. Right now they’re on Powerpuff Girls.
KS: How many kids do you have?
M: I have like ten kids, nah, I’m just playing. I have four kids.
KS: How old are they?
M: Twelve, seven, seven, five.
KS: Do you think you have, like, such a big impact on their childhood?
M: Of course, my kids are like a spit image of, their personally is like a spit imagine of mine. I see a lot of me in them, and especially the way I was raised, the way they are. I’m bringing them up almost the same way. I see a lot of things that they do that I used to do, so yeah.
