Have you ever eaten chips and you started to wonder why you started eating them and why you can’t stop well? I had gone through that too so I’ll walk you through the reason why these snack chips are hard to put down.
Addictive Snack
Snack chips all have one thing in common: they have a bunch of salt infused during the chip making process to make them savory and make you crave more. Also the marketing of these snacks are pushed toward kids and their parents are forced to buy them these sad excuses of unhealthy snacks.
These snack chips have almost six times the adult-needed sodium (salt) for the day.
Tasty Chips
Chips are very tasty and many of them have different flavors like cheese or a tangy variant of the original but these flavors are made of unnatural dyes, artificial sweeteners, and chemical made flavors. These lab made ingredients, especially acrylamide1, can become carcinogenic (or cancerous) in high doses. In other terms, eating a lot of chips in a short span of time can affect your health, according to edublogs.
Filling alternatives
You might still want chips but why would you want to eat processed garbage that can seriously injury you when you can eat air-popped popcorn or assorted nuts. Those are low fat and you will not have cravings after. You can also make a snack at home and bring them on the go like a sandwich with ingredients that are clean and non processed. Also you can eat fruits or vegetables that are straight from your garden if you have one.
Conclusion
In conclusion you should not eat chips and if you do still eat them then portion them for a day or two to not eat those toxic chemicals when you’re snaking. Also the more you eat the more you crave and craving junk food will affect your health.
