Who is Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
Zlatan Ibrahimović is one of the most famous soccer players in the world, known for his incredible talent and confidence. He is Sweden’s all-time leading goal scorer. He was born in Malmo, Sweden =on October 3, 1981 he is currently 43 years old and is retired. Some might say that he is a cocky player because of his trash talking on the field.
Zlatan’s professional career
According to Biography.com it states “Ibrahimovic made his professional debut for Malmö FF in 1999, and helped the second-division club make the leap to the first level the following season. The 6’5″ striker then signed with the prominent Dutch club AFC Ajax and honed his formidable skills as part of two title-winning teams, though he also developed a reputation as a temperamental player.”

Zlatan’s controversies
According to dailymail.co.uk, “Wherever Zlatan Ibrahimovic goes, controversy is sure to follow.”
Some of the things Zlatan had done was making homophobic comments. Youtube star ishowspeed was visiting San Siro, Italy and met Zlatan Ibrahimovic at a stadium locker room. Once they left the locker room they got a car to explore around San Siro. In the car, they played a game called ‘First to move is gay.” On a video posted by ishowspeed, they both stood still for several minutes. He faced a lot of criticism because many found his actions homophobic.
He also made hurtful comments about women’s football. He said that women’s football could not be compared to men’s football. He also said “Give it up,” meaning he thinks that women cannot be as great as men and to just give up. He also negatively compared some of the world’s best players, Messi and Ronaldo, to women’s soccer players.
Zlatan argued with a lot of his coaches and fought against other players. During the 2010/11 derby (a traditional rivalry game) between AC Milan and Inter Milan, he intentionally fouled Inter player Marco Materazzi. Materazzi was hospitalized because of a kung-fu kick and a flying elbow from Ibrahimovic.
Connection to Los Angeles
Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined the LA Galaxy on March 23, 2018 and left at the end of 2019. During the season he played for the LA Galaxy he scored a total of 53 goals and had 26 assists in 58 games. He also was a finalist of the MLS MVP award. Something astonishing he did was buy a full page advertisement in the LA Times newspaper costing over $30,000, which said, “Dear Los Angeles, You’re welcome.” This happened when he got signed in 2018.
