JMS students who attended spring classes were able to go to many field trips, including the LA Zoo, Knott’s Berry Farm, Top Golf, and Medieval Times.
On Tuesday April 22, students had their Knott’s field trip. Students got in groups of their choice with a teacher chaperone. They got to the park at 10am and left for the bus at 4:30. Students got back to campus at 5:30.
Since there was different groups and different chaperones, everybody went on different rides. Some kids wanted to get on bigger rides, and some didn’t, and the same thing with ‘baby’ rides. One of the students that went on all the big rides in my group was Michelle Flores.
Michelle said, “I went on Xcelerator and HangTime with Candy, Paulette, and Kayla. The rides were very traumatic, scary, and I was overall very scared because of mainly the “going up” part. However, the adrenaline rush took over and I would go on it again.”
Michelle talked about how the rides that made her feel, and especially the part when you go up. Even though they made her feel like she had a big adrenaline rush, she would go on those rides again.
Michelle mentioned that, ” My overall experience at the park was really fun and the food was really good. I ate a hamburger with fries and Xathzire bought me a strawberry drink from Starbucks. We also saw a famous TikTok couple and they were behind us on a ride.”
Michelle thinks that the time being at the park was fun and ate some good food.
Some other people that went with Michelle and I were Paulette Fernandez and Yariza Rochez. The group was mainly cut in half because some wanted to go on bigger rides, and some wanted to go on smaller rides.
Yariza said, “I went on Silver bullet, Ghost Rider, Pony Express, Calico River, Coast Rider, and Wipeout. My favorite ride was Silver Bullet because it was really fun with the loops. There was a lot of pressure in the last loop though. The rides were really fun and I’ll go again for sure.”
Yariza also said, “My favorite part of the day was being with my friends and being able to go in the rides with them and just being table to talk to all my friends at the park.”
Paulette Fernandez was one of the students who enjoyed the bigger rides.
Paulette said, “All the rides I went I loved except for Pony Express. The line was so long for such a small ride. Other than that ride I liked the big rides better. My favorite was Xcelerator. The ride was so fun and went so quickly. I liked all the big rides that were there and will go again. The smaller rides were good but not better than the big ones. The whole day was fun because I enjoyed it with my friends.”
Paulette did not like the smaller rides compared to her love for the bigger ones. She liked Xcelertor the best and disliked Pony Express the most. Paulette liked how she went to Knott’s with her friends and that she spent the day with them.
One of the staff chaperones that came along was Miles. Miles is a security guard. Miles chaperoned seventh graders.
Miles said, “I did enjoy going to Kn0tt’s, and I was chaperoning seventh graders. We went on most of the rides and it was super fun. When I went on HangTime it was scary because when the part you go up it feels like you’re slipping out of your seat, but other than that the ride was super fun and I would go again.”
Miles enjoyed all the rides, and even though the upper part of Hangtime was the scariest, he would still go again.
