“Hello, I am Mayi Bravo and this is my seventh year at AJMS. Something I like about teaching is when I see students pushing themselves so they can understand what I am teaching. One challenge that I always face is motivation because some students have a hard time focusing and they don’t do their work so when this happens I ask myself what I can do to motivate them. When students don’t get my class I reteach or try a different strategy and sometimes I give more practice. For me I have to grade, lesson planning, contacting parents, printing, and preparing worksheets. [For her role as a Safe & Civil lead she has to check] Liveschool, I have to prepare hall passes, take care of the emergency supplies, and make goals. So I’m also a department chair and I have to check on the math teachers, give them feedback, and prepare monthly meetings with all the math teachers.”
