The girls’ volleyball team had their first match against Arts in Action, which was held at Aspire CCPA, Thursday, September 18, at 5 p.m. The team pushed themselves on the court while playing.
Math teacher David Aleman attended the game.
He stated, “There is a lot of great stuff. You guys were able to return the ball to the opponent when they served it. So there was a lot of great things, and you were able to um, you know, be clutch. It was really clutch to see you guys dive for the ball and throw it over. But yeah, very proud of all your efforts. And you all should be proud of yourselves as well.”
Although they lost both sets, 19-25 and 23-25, the team continued to encourage and cheer for each other from the bench and even after the game.
“You know, giving each other support, being there, just kind of talking to each other, letting each other know that you’re there for them, and just communicating. And whenever we compete against them again, we’re going to show them that we deserve to win. And we’re going to be good,” said sixth grade team member Savanna Shepherd.
