On Sunday December 14, the Students Run LA (SRLA) team ran the holiday half Marathon(13.1 miles) at Pomona Fairplex.
Eighth grade runner, Andy Espinoza said, “Running 13 miles was hard because there were hills, but what I most liked about the race was that people were cheering and at the end.”
Seventh grade runner, Alondra Banda said, “I felt proud because it was my first half marathon, the race was taking forever and i was exhausted, but I really enjoyed the people that I ran with because they were motivating me.”
Another Seventh grade runner, Anthony Torres said, “I felt tired but proud that I finished, I was worried of the time but I really liked how the people were giving out water and gatorade for us.”
All of the students completed the half marathon. Some of them received their green shirts and snowflake medals to show what they have completed. The students brought their shirts and medals to school and showed that they ran the Holiday Half Marathon.
