Have you ever thought how a skater’s life is like? Many people skate for fun, as a way to distract themselves and others just try to become pros.

Skating is also a way to express yourself. Some people describe skating not just as a hobby but as an art form, a lifestyle and a sport.

Thomas Lo, Math teacher at AJCMS, says that he didn’t skate regularly, but just skated after school with friends in the parking lot. Lo said, “I started skating because my friends got into skating so we all kind of got into skating together.” He also said “I also like extreme sports like snowboarding and surfing.” He thinks that his greatest skating accomplishment was that he was able to Ollie over three skateboards stacked on top of each other.

Eighth grader, Arturo Carino, says that he skates because its a cool thing to do and it makes him feel proud when he is able to learn new things. “I started skating because my brother had a friend who was an alright skater and I thought it was cool,” Arturo said. He spends about two hours skating, but when it comes to weekends, I probably skate about eleven hours. He says that his greatest skating accomplishment is learning and landing fakie bigspins.

Eighth grader, Michael Miranda, said, “I like skating because it’s fun and it’s a way to release stress.” He thinks that he really likes skating, he skates at least one through two hours a day. He said that his greatest skating accomplishment is a kickflip.

Some people may say that skating isn’t a big deal but to these people its there life.
