Student Spotlight: Scholar
Gissel Contreras is an eighth grade student at Animo Jefferson Charter Middle School. She might not be your typical girl , but deep inside she’s just like any teenage girl. She’s really quiet, respectful to her peers, and teachers. She’s funny and creative.
According to Carl Finer, when Gissel was a 7th grader, she came up with a creative reason for why Finer shaved his head. Her comment was about the video they watched of a unicorn named Charlie who went to the mountains and she used that in a creative way for why Finer shaved his hair. This is just an example of how intelligent and creative Gissel is.
Gissel had to face challenges such as not being able to walk for four months. She never gave up and kept trying hard and did her best. Her mom and dad were the ones who were always their for her. They helped Gissel’s face her challenges and supported her. Her mom and dad were the ones who inspired her to keep going and to not give up.
One of her dreams and her plan for the future is to get a job and to get a house. She is a bright smart student who works hard and will change the future.
