On May 26th, eighth graders will start their finals at AJCMS.

Eighth graders have three days to finish their finals for most of their classes. Finals for each subject would be taken on different days.

May 4th through May 15th, students were taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). Student, Randy Aldana, said, “…the school has to keep note that we barely had gone out of testing.” Randy thinks that it is stressful taking another challenging test after taking the SBAC.

There are also many students who are scared to take their finals. Student, Mayrin Martinez, said, “I am mostly nervous because it is our final and it counts towards your grade.” Most students were surprised due to the fact that finals were being counted towards their grade.

Parent, Maggie Salazar believes that there are only some students who are actually prepared for their finals, but others still need a bit more time to get prepared. She said, “I think that they’re half and half, some of them are prepared some of them are not.”
