"I would never trample over them. Because demons were once human too! Just like me, they were humans too!"

Tanjiro Kamado sells charcoal to make some money to help out with his family due to the fact that his father passed away. One day when Tanjiro is out selling charcoal to the people who live down the mountain, he returns to his home to discover his whole family dead with the exception of his sister, Nezuko Kamado. He falls into a rage and attempts to take Nezuko to a hospital since she was still alive but severely injured; when someone struck at Tanjiro’s home, they managed to turn her into a demon, so when Nezuko awakens she tries to attack Tanjiro not remembering they were related.

Giyu Tomioka, a Hashira member of the Demon Slayer Corps, arrives and restrains Nezuko so that she won’t harm Tanjiro; however, Tanjiro wanted Giyu to let go of Nezuko so that she could be with him. Giyu sees with his own two eyes how Nezuko tries to project Tanjiro from Giyu when she got her memory back, and that’s when he has faith that Nezuko and Tanjiro can go around as part of the Demon Slayer Corps even though it is a violation to work with a demon. Giyu takes the chance and sends Tanjiro to Sakonji Urokodaki, a former Demon Slayer Hashira to train. From then on, Tanjiro made it his mission to find out a way to turn Nezuko back into a human, and to fulfill his mission, he needs to find Muzan Kibutsuji, the first demon to ever set foot on Earth.

As shown in my heading I included a saying from Tanjiro: “I would never trample over them. Because demons were once human too! Just like me, they were human too!” This quote really stood out to me. It tells you just the type of person Tanjiro Kamado is. Also knowing the fact that these demons are a menace to society, Tanjiro continues to show them respect because as he says, they were once humans too.

Another quote that stood out to me was one by Jigoro Kuwajima (the former hashira who trained Zenitsu.) “Zenitsu, perfect it! It’s alright to cry or go off by yourself. Just don’t ever give up. Believe in yourself.” This quote was just really sweet overall and showed how kind Kuwajima was to Zenitsu. Kuwajima persuaded him to try his best even when Zenitsu felt like escaping or giving up.

To be honest, Demon Slayer was really good. After the show, I recommend watching the movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train. The creator of Demon Slayer is also announcing that there will be a second season coming out this year in October. Without any doubt I would rewatch this series again and again.

It really caught my attention as to how Tanjiro is such a kind hearted person, and considering the fact that he met Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira (fellow members of the Demon Slayer Corps) as strangers, Tanjiro still looked out for both of them as if they have been friends with one another all their lives. I would like to assume that most people, as myself, would find themselves to have a liking for Inosuke since he’s very clueless, but that’s one of the things that makes him a funny character. Also, many people will like to Zenitsu due to his scared personality.

I would recommend Demon Slayer to people who like a good action show as well as individuals who like comedy.
