Reconnecting after a year apart
After a year of distance learning spent teaching from St. Petersburg, Florida (quarantining with my brother’s family), this year has been a fitful yet fruitful reconnection with so many other people and places that matter in my life that I lost touch with during the pandemic. Leaving Florida at the start of last summer, I drove first to Cleveland to reconnect with my parents and childhood friends before driving all the way back west to Los Angeles. In LA, I’ve slowly started attending public events (like an NFL game) again and helped revive many traditions at JMS, like Students Run LA and the adopt-a-family project.
