On February 10, 2014,  SRLA runners received a new pair of  Nike shoes, shorts, and shirts, due to their hard work and great effort they put on all the practices and races.

Eighth grade SRLA runner, Alma Gonzalez felt excited to receive another pair of shoes. “I thank the Nike company for helping us runners by giving us good running gear to run with,” Alma said. Alma thinks that having two pairs of shoes helps her by being prepared for practices and future running events.

Seventh grade SRLA runner, Jonathan Espinal thinks that having Nike shoes will help him run and be prepared with running gear. “I felt happy receiving another pair of shoes because this made me feel more confident running,” Jonathan said.

There were two different types of shoes. For the girls, the shoes were dark with light blue. For the boys, the shoes were dark blue with light green. Each SRLA member has two pairs of shoes that they can use to run in practices or also for upcoming races. The runners thank the Nike company for donating shoes to them. This builds up more to each runners confidence on running. This also helps the runners be prepared with their running gear.
