Ever since the deletion of the famous app, Flappy Bird, many people around the world have been creating many versions of the game, using a similar gaming style, but with a different character instead of a bird. Some of the characters used are a fish that looks very similar to the annoying fish in Super Mario Bros., the head of Miley Cyrus with her tongue sticking out of her mouth, and a character very similar to a superhero.

“Flappy Wings is basically the same except for the bird and every time you pass the pipe you get a coin,” said Raul Lopez.

Dylan Walker said,”[I have played] Flapping Bird. You can play online and instead of Mario tubes, it’s invisible tubes.”

One of the most famous and well known Flappy Bird knockoff is an app titled Splashy Fish, in which you are a fish that looks almost exactly like the pointless and annoying fish in the Super Mario Bros. and you would have to tap the screen, like you would in Flappy Bird, to make the fish swim up and avoid the columns instead of pipes and you can earn character add-ons which you were not able to do in the original app. Some of these character add-ons include golden flappy wings, a king of the ocean crown, a shining beak, etc.

This famous app, according to Massimo Guareschi, creator of Splashy Fish, is played by five to ten million people per day and was created because his nephews said that they wish there were better features to Flappy Bird in order to improve the game.

There is a high risk of making an app that has a similar name to Flappy Bird. Google and Apple are taking apps off of the app store. According to a CNN report, “One developer told App Battleground that he re-titled his popular game “Flappy Bee” as “Jumpy Bee” several days ago after getting an e-mail from Apple saying he had 48 hours to change the name.”
