On Tuesday March 10, Bam Adebayo of the MIAMI HEAT scored 83 points against the WASHINGTON WIZARDS in an NBA game. This is an important event because he passed Kobe Bryant’s 81 point game for the second most points ever scored in an NBA game, behind only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game in 1962.
This is significant because Bam Adebayo scored 31 points in the first quarter. He also shot 10-16 from the field and shot 5-8 three pointers in the first quarter. Bam Adebayo then proceeded to shoot 46.5 percent from the field for the rest of the game and added 7-22 from the three-point line. He also made 36 free throws out of 40 attempts. The game between the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards ended with the Heat winning 150-129.
I went to the LAKERS game the same evening, and when the public address announcer informed the crowd the news that Adebayo had passed Kobe’s points record, the crowd booed. Some people such as Ime Udoka, coach Houston ROCKETS, was mad about how many free throws he shot, and some say that he should’ve never been the one to break the record. But Bam Adebayo and others defended Bam said that records are meant to be broken and that Kobe fans should stop being mad about it.
