Jaden McDaniels is a basketball player from Federal Way, Washington who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was drafted to the NBA in 2020. Even though he was originally drafted by the Los Angeles LAKERS, he was soon traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder then eventually joined the Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to the Kids Encyclopedia, “Jaden McDaniels grew up playing basketball in Federal Way, Washington. In his first year of high school, he played alongside his older brother, Jalen. Together, they helped their team, Federal Way High School, win a state championship.”
In his first college game for the University of Washington, he scored 18 points and seven rebounds. As freshmen he would average 13 points and almost 6 rebounds per game and started most of the games he played.
In Jaden McDaniels’ first NBA game he scored 6 points and grabbed 1 rebound. He would later start averaging 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. In April 2024, he scored 25 points in a playoff game against the Phoenix Suns. This was his highest score in a playoff game at that time. He also played a key role in a huge comeback win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Timberwolves came back from 25 points down to win in overtime. Jaden scored 27 points in that game. He started all 82 games for the Timberwolves that season. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
Recently when Jaden McDaniels and the Timberwolves were in the playoffs his teammate Anthony Edwards got injured in game 4 of their first round matchup against the Denver Nuggets. But Jaden McDaniels stepped up and scored 20 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and had 2 assists. His best game was in game 6 against the Denver Nuggets: he scored 32 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and had 3 assists.
