“The Graveyard Book” is a pretty cool book
I would rate it an 8 out of 10
The Graveyard Book is about a kid named Bod growing up in a graveyard because his family was brutally murdered. There are ghosts that take care of him and educate him. He meets cool people like Silas, who is his guardian and a vampire. He also meets Miss Lupescu, who seems like a scary person but is pretty cool and is a werewolf.
This book is pretty interesting because of how the kid managed to survive in the graveyard and how he is able to see and talk to the ghosts that live there. Another thing I enjoyed from the book is that he is able to do something that humans can’t do. I really enjoyed this book because the kid was basically isolated from the world and he wanted to explore it. It was like he was in a cage that he couldn’t get out of but it was for his own safety.
I really liked the character Silas. He was a mysterious person/vampire who really cared about Bod and it was his job to protect him. He really tried to convince Bod that the world isn’t safe for him because of the man Jack. He knew that he was still out there and wanted to make sure that when Bod leaves the graveyard he would be safe. Although he wasn’t there for much of the book, he still took care of Bod by giving him money and buying him food. He was also the reason why Bod was not killed as a baby by the man Jack.
I recommend this book to people who like reading comics because it has some illustrations and the way it’s set up is pretty similar to a comic book. The illustrations aren’t super detailed but they are detailed enough to know what’s going on and just to help imagine what’s actually happening in the story.
