Face masks: What you should know!
Why are face masks important?
I believe face masks are important because they protect you from Covid-19. According to the CDC, “Masks are a simple barrier to help prevent your respiratory droplets from reaching others.” Also, studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth. So in general a face mask is typically worn to stop any coughs, sneezing, and saliva. You may ask “Why should I wear a mask?” Well it’s not about only keeping yourself safe, but protecting yourself and others. Also, it helps to stop this pandemic.
When should you wear a mask?
According to the CDC, “masks should be worn any time you’re on a plane, bus, train, or other form of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations.” Also, the CDC states, “Masks may not be necessary when you are outside by yourself away from others, or with people who live in your household. However, some areas may have mask mandates while out in public, so please check the rules in your local area (such as in your city, county, or state). Additionally, check whether any federal mask mandates apply to where you will be going.” In general, face masks should be worn outside and most importantly near people.
What are the most effective and least ineffective masks?
“CDC does not recommend using masks with exhalation valves or vents. The hole in the material may allow your respiratory droplets to escape and reach others. Research on the effectiveness of these types of masks is ongoing.” There are so many masks that I believe that are ineffective such as a scarf or a bandanna. Also, cloth masks are really not as effective because the germs can pass through cloth. But some face masks I believe work great is the N-95 mask or a regular disposable mask because it’s more thicker and can hold the germs. While picking a mask, you should pick the best one and the one you feel the most comfortable with!
Thus, I believe that face masks are important.

I like how you used evidence, and backed up your reasons.
