How covid affects people
The pandemic has been a very interesting time for all of us. It has affected all of our lives, even though not all of us had it.
Here are some ways the pandemic has impacted our lives even more.
First of all, social distancing. It’s hard being away from your loved one for so long. But it is beneficial for you and your personal health. It can help prevent the spreading. Some negatives of the social distances can be as stated by the Center of Disease Control, “such as social distancing, are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety” This causes problems for all of us. Like us being affected even though we didn’t really contract Covid. This is also bad for the ones that were ok all of the way. They could worry about you and waste their energy and they themselves could get infected!
There are also many other types of struggles in this, such as the mental risks that we can have stated by The Lancet: ”Most reviewed studies reported negative psychological effects including post-traumatic stress symptoms, confusion, and anger. Stressors included longer quarantine duration, infection fears, frustration, boredom, inadequate supplies, inadequate information, financial loss, and stigma.” This means that people will be affected due to the stress and monetary loss that they might experience. This might impact their mental health by them not being able to accept that Covid might exist. Or it might cause problems like people not having enough money, them having not enough to eat, thinking that the pandemic is over, and/or might get evicted.
They also might get hit by Covid. This might cause them to feel symptoms of Covid such as stated by John’s Hopkin’s Medicine: “fatigue, headache, sore throat or fever.” These symptoms might cause people to stay at home. This will also affect their income. Because there was a shortage of jobs during the highlight of the pandemic, the person with Covid could have been fired and replaced.
In conclusion, this will be negative to the people in the pandemic because the faults of others (like not wearing a mask, and not sanitizing) can cause greater problems for others that did everything to prevent the spread. So this affects people everyday, even if you haven’t caught it yet.
