Everybody has heard about mythology at least once in their lifetime, but most people don’t know much about it. You may find mythology on the internet or in museums, so why is it important? I will be discussing the importance and facts of mythology.

Mythology is filled with many different stories from each tradition, stories that were told in the past. 

People from a very long time ago came up with and explained them throughout the world, sharing the way people had understood the occurrences they believed in during the ancient past.

According to the World History Encyclopedia, it mentions “Mythology is the study and interpretation of many special  tales or fables of a culture or tradition known as the stories which make many parts of its stories such as the origin of place-names, animals, beliefs, stories from the past, the meaning of life and death, the stories of one god or multiple goddesses.’’

This means that mythology is stories that came from people with different beliefs.  These stories share what happened, from aspects of the origins from a natural phenomenon and the origins of events that occurred in ancient times, where people made up stories to understand life better and to be part of its culture.

According to history.com, it states “Ancient Greek mythology is a tale and fascinating group  of legends about gods, heroes, monsters, warriors, and legends that were shown in everyday life in the medieval world Greek mythology explains everything from religion to the weather and gave meaning to how people observed all around.” 

This shows that in mythology there are stories that include important figures in them. Telling stories from an event that functioned around them that shows their inspiration and beliefs of what had happened, as a story to know about how an event in their life worked based on their beliefs of how things worked.

In mythology a long time ago people made mythology to explain how things worked, using events and beliefs to tell the listeners what the story is about and give a better understanding of action.

According to Britannica.com, “The phrase mythology means the study of myth and the body of myths belonging to a particular type of religious tradition examining how mythology functioned for the ancient, medieval population.”

This source indicates that the term mythology came from a religious tradition, studying how mythology worked during the past even though there is a lot about people and their beliefs from a long time ago.
