Vampire Weekend Album
Vampire Weekend’s “Modern Vampires Of The City” is amazing. “Modern Vampires Of The City” by Vampire Weekend is their third album and was released on May 14, 2013. The indie rock band’s album was number one again on the US Billboard 200. They sold 134,000 copies on their first week. Rolling Stone named the album the “best album of 2013”. The album includes 12 songs in total.
My friends and I were hearing music on Spotify and then there was a “recommended song” that came up that was called “Diane Young”. When I first heard this song, I was sitting down with friends and we were all captivated by it, the song was loud and fun and made us want to have a small little 4 people party. I wanted to hear more genius work of Vampire Weekend so we looked them up and listened to a lot of the songs with catchy names. We were not let down at all, the songs were all fun and gave you the same feeling of wanting to have fun. Although the songs were fast, some were nice, smoothing, and slow. It was nice to hear these songs as well. Vampire Weekend did an amazing job of balancing fast-beated songs with slow songs.
Some really catchy songs are “Diane Young”, “Unbelievers”, “Finger Back”, and “Worship You”.
Then there’s slower songs such as, “Hannah Hunt”, “Hudson”, and “Young Lion”.
And there’s also slow yet not fast paced songs like “Obvious Bicycle”, “Step”, “Don’t Lie”, “Everlasting Alarms”, and “Ya Hey”. I think the slow yet not fast songs are the perfect songs to listen and just chill.
They write about many different things, some random lyrics are put into each song, but that’s what keeps the songs interesting.
My favorite would probably be “Worship You”. They incorporated plenty of different sounds and instruments to make that song. You could listen to this song and not really get tired of it.
This is the type of album you want to have a good time with. It has plenty characteristics that are unique compared to other bands/artists this one sings and expresses themselves about anything they want and don’t mind of what others think. I strongly recommend this album and band to anyone interested in indie, soft rock, or alternative.
