Music Reviews: J. Cole, Logic, and Wiz Khalifa
What makes you like an album? Is it because they are your favorite artist? Is it because you like the cover? Or is it because you like a couple of songs? Well, I will give you three albums to listen to. I recommend you to listen to J. Cole’s album “Forest Hills Drive,” Logic’s album “Under Pressure,” and Wiz Khalifa’s song “See You Again.”
Jermaine Lamarr Cole, best known for his rapping name, J. Cole, is a 30 year old rapper from Frankfurt, Germany. J. Cole’s most recent album was released December 9, 2014. In my opinion it is a relax album to listen to. It has songs that talk about race in “Fire Squad” This song mentions how many white rappers are taking black’s music and making it theirs. Then he also talks about adolescent feelings in “Wet dreams.” This is one of my favorite songs from the album because you can relate to what he talks about in it.
Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, also known by his rapping name, Logic, is a 25 year old rapper from Maryland. He started showing his talent at the age of 16. His latest album name “Under Pressure” was an album that when I heard it for the first time, I knew I wanted wanted to continue to hear the album. The album was released October 21, 2014. I was hearing the first songs and then by the time I got to the fifth song titled “Buried Alive” I got hooked to the song. I kept that song on replay. When I heard Logic start the song I was like “this is going to be a good one.” He talks about how he feels like he is buried alive. There aren’t words to describe describe it when you hear it you’re going to know what I mean. Logic may be a young rapper but he knows what he does and what he raps about. The circumstances he lived as a younger kid made him be more mature.
I am a fan of Fast and the Furious movies. When I heard the song that came out in Fast 7 “See you again ” by Wiz Khalifa I was like “this song is sad.” I know most of you guys have heard it but if you haven’t I suggest you do. There are songs that are loud and they turn you up. “See you again” isn’t like that. This song is relaxing. It is dedicated for Paul Walker. It makes makes you think of someone close to you that has passed away .
So if you haven’t heard of the song or listen to the album I recommend you to listen to all three artists.
