"The Hunger Games" is a true fight for survival

The Hunger Games, written by Suzane Collins and the first of three books in the series, is a very good and entertaining book. Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old from district 12, is the main protagonist of the story, which is told from her perspective. The Hunger Games is a competition from which each of the 12 districts must either send or randomly choose two people to fight for survival and win rewards for their district. When the time came for the games, Katniss’s little sister, Rose, was chosen along with some other boy. This was unexpected for Katniss, which made her volunteer to take her sister’s place, showing that she has lots of courage. Knowing that the only way to win and stay alive is to kill everyone else in the arena, she must act smart and be brave.

The book was written with a lot of action and a fight for survival. The plot is very well explained and has suspense. Many other books have great plot, but this one was different than the story in many other books since it’s mainly about how another civilization works and how it uses a game to determine which district gets great rewards based on who is the last survivor. The way the author wrote about it really showed the feelings Katniss was dealing with in during the  Hunger Games. Not only that, but her way of writing was at just the right pace meaning, that it wasn’t too fast nor too slow. This book’s genre is adventure, action and science fiction.

Overall, I really think this is a good book and would recommend it to those who seek thrills and a really good plot with death and other major occurrences.
