Flappy Bird Addiction

The new sensational Flappy Bird game, is found to be addicting, according to the creator of the game, Dong Nguyen.

Eighth grader Odalis Garcia said, “Flappy Bird is addictive because I always play it to pass my high score.” When Odalis first played Flappy Birds, she got frustrated and never put down her phone.

Days after the game was pulled from iTunes, Dong spoke about the decision to pull down the game. “It happened to become an addictive product,” said Dong, according to News Week. He said that the game was apparently designed to play for a few minutes when you are relaxed, but instead it became an obsession for many of its fans. According to Densi Carise, Deputy Chief Clinical Officer of CRC Health Group and a professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Medical School, Flappy Bird offered many of the rewards sought by gamers with addictive tendencies, particularly mindlessness repetition, and illusion of skill.
