Zoink’s real name is Ian. Zoink was just like every other teen until he found out about a game called Geometry Dash. It was not like any other game; it was a music rhythm game. It started as a mobile game, and it grew in popularity because content creators tried to play it but kept getting mad and made the funniest reactions. Later, Roptop Games, the Creator of Geometry Dash, made it available on Steam. Steam is a digital distribution platform and an online community for video games, and on the platform there was a guy who took the game by storm. His name was Spaceuk. He was the best player to ever play during 2021 to 2022. He won the Best Geometry Dash Player award for two years. In 2021, Zoink beat Bloodbath. It was a hard level to beat in its time, but later levels came out that were even harder. While it wasn’t even on the list of the hardest levels, he wanted to be the best player so he did a crazy skill jump to zodiac #3 on the demon list. Zodiac was a hard level to beat, even if you’re really good at the game. But he did it in 40,000 attempts.
In the 2022 Geometry Dash awards, Zoink placed third, but later that year, Zoink passed SpaceUK on the points leader board. But something happened: Spaceuk was exposed. He was hacking; he never played the game; he hacked all the levels he completed. He had an auto player to beat the levels for him, and he would just record the mouse click sounds. When they asked him for a hand cam, he’d shut down the question, and when he did, he’d be in a dark place where you could hardly see his hand. Zoink had done it: he was the best player ever, but he just kept going. He is one of the only people ever to beat the top 75 hardest levels. He kept growing in skill; he kept beating levels. the best by thousands of points in the point leaderboard. He completed/verified the fourth hardest level, called Tidal Wave.
With his hardest level verified, being Thinking Space II, it took him 83,913 attempts, which is the hardest level in the game for now. I interviewed Johann Rosas, who is an eighth grader and the entertainment editor for investigations.
I asked what he thought he said, “I think that he deserved it because he’s the best and he has been playing Geometry Dash for years.”
I also asked him what he thought about SpaceUK cheating and he said, “I wasn’t in the community when that happened but that meant that Zoink was the best and he did it.”
