The French bulldog has been gaining popularity, according to the New York Post.

However, many people are complaining about the cost of the dog. Let me tell you why that type of breed is very expensive.

The reason why the cost of the dog is high is due to the fact that the dog breeder has to prepare the dog for artificial insemination, which costs around $300.

Eighth Grader Jasmine Cirilo said, “I have a cousin who has a French bulldog and they spent a bunch of money on buying the dog but I honestly think that’s way too much to spend on a dog.’’

The French bulldog goes for a very high price but many people still would like to have the dog because of its adorable looks.

Eighth grader Alison Cisneros said, ‘’I honestly think people want this dog for the looks and I don’t see the hype of the dog. To be honest, it’s decent looking but there is nothing special about it.”

People may believe that the dog is cute but the price is too much.

Eighth grader Milo Hernandez said, ‘’I think the dog is cute and I see why people spend that much money on the dog.”

For starters, the French bulldog ranges from around $1,000 to $5,000. But it really depends on the color of the fur.

There’s many reasons why French bulldogs are expensive. They are especially expensive if they are not from a puppy mill. “A puppy mill is an establishment that breeds dogs for money and the conditions usually are inhumane and bad.’’ Because places that aren’t puppy mills take good care of their dogs and the process isn’t rough for the dogs and their well being, they charge more for one of their dogs.

The process of getting your French bulldog, if not from a puppy mill, is long and expensive. The reason why it’s expensive is because in the beginning of the process it involves the caretaker starting the dog’s artificial insemination for pregnancy.

The vet usually recommends the owner of the pregnant French bulldog to have a C section for the dog when giving birth According to French bulldog owner.com, “Since the dog has very narrow hips and a big head it causes difficulty for the pups when it’s time for delivery, since the pup could get stuck in the canal of the mom dog. Not that it’s impossible for the dog to give naturally, but it will be a longer process and the dog will be under a lot of stress, which Increases chance of the pregnant dog and the pups to be at risk of dying.” This is why vets recommend a c section. This is the reason why the cost is expensive due to the operation costing about no more than 1300.

Although French bulldogs may cost too much, the dog is priceless for many people.
