What comes to mind when you think of Paris? No, not just the Eiffel Tower, croissants, and tea. There is so much more to Paris than people think. Maybe the Eiffel Tower is one of Paris’ biggest attractions, but you can make your experience in Paris unique. If you’re really interested on making your stay in Paris unique and special you should give these places a try.
Places to go to
There are many places to go in Paris, not just the Eiffel Tower, but other unique places. There are lots of famous museums located in Paris, like the Louvre Museum. However, far fewer tourists visit The Grand Lodge of France. What makes this museum special is that it is one of the oldest masonic museums. The Masons are a type of organization that has been around since the 14th century and is often known as Freemasonry, who taught lessons about making men better through charity and improvement for themselves. The Grand Lodge of France contains the history of France, old pieces, sacred pieces, and precious articles. Some examples are swords, jewels, metals, masonic aprons, and thousands of ritual objects.
If you’re more interested in eye-catching and unusual museums then Centre Pompidou is a must. Atlas Obscura says “The exterior uses an “Inside out” design with large pipes on the building’s facade, and the inside consists of some quite conceptual outside-the-box modern art.” Not only is it very unique and eye catching but it is also the largest modern art museum. Having such absurd and surreal things makes it unique and eye catching.
Places to go eat at
There are lots of wonderful pastries in Paris. The most visited pastry shop would be Café de Flore. However, many tourists forget about other simple yet delicious pastries at places like Stohrer. This pastry shop is not as popular as Café de Flore but it’s way of making pastries is very delicious. Stohrer soaks their cakes to make them sweet and spongy, unlike other pastries that have dry and crumbly cakes. It has been around for a long period of time, yet it might also be the only shop that has such recipes. Its most popular dish is a small pastry called boozy baba au rhom. It is a small cake that is sometimes filled with whipped cream or pastry cream.
Another less well-known restaurant is The Hood. Not many people know about this restaurant but it well known by some and it’s the only Singaporean restaurant in Paris. They serve traditional foods like Hainanese chicken rice that is well known as one of Singapore’s national dishes. Atlas Obscura says “As passionate about food as it is about community, The Hood is more than a restaurant. It is a place to gather.” This is a very traditional restaurant, making it very comforting and home welcoming feeling when you go there. Hardly any restaurants have that type of feeling or comfort these days.Â
Paris attractions
Paris has lots of unique restaurants and places you want to visit, but there is one main reason why lots of tourists and people travel all the way to Paris, which is the famous Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower has gotten many visitors and is always has been one of Paris’ main attractions. It is one of the most visited monuments in the world and is 324 meters tall.
What is less well known is where to get the best views on the Eiffel Tower. Come to Paris says that the second floor of the Eiffel Tower is the best view to see Paris. Although its very expensive its worth it because of the amazing view. Not only did does Come to Paris say that the second floor is the best view but so does Rick Steves. He says “Paris views are better from the tower’s second level than its very top, as you’re closer to the city’s rooftops.”
