At AJMS there is a teacher who is expecting a major life change in the future. This teacher has a huge impact on her students. She works hard to create a positive environment for learning and sharing their thoughts, helping them succeed both inside and outside of school.
Eighth grader Janett Garcia said, “She has a creative and bright personality. Also her classroom is very lively because she has a few encouraging posters and the decoration feels welcoming even though I don’t have her for a class.”
Eighth grader Brandon Miles II said, “A positive thing I can say about Miss is that she makes learning fun, that also her class is fun in general.”
Seventh grader Abigail Carrillo said, “Her class is good and cool because she encourages you to answer questions but doesn’t force you if you don’t know. She makes me feel like I belong in her class.”
For most students at AJMS, this news still remains a mystery. However, she trusted her advisory class, Assistant Principal Wendy Perez, and a few close teacher colleagues with this special news. Those who were told about the news were excited for her and understood the importance of keeping it private until she was ready to share the news with the rest of the school.
Now with the teacher’s permission, she is ready to tell her secret with AJMS community.
Beginning a new chapter
Science teacher Jacqueline Alamilla is beginning a new chapter in her life. Like every chapter there will be challenges both, big and small. But as she makes her way through life with this big change she will learn and grow.
Ms. Alamilla is expecting a baby.
Motherhood will teach Ms. Alamilla many valuable lessons and experiences.
However, there is one more surprise. The gender.
Alamilla’s advisory class along, along with science teacher Judy Lee, organized a gender reveal celebration. Students recorded the reveal and made their guesses of what the gender might be before finding out.
The big reveal
The video shows that Alamilla is having a baby boy. Her students all celebrated and gave their congratulations to her. As Alamilla prepares for motherhood, the AJMS community wishes her the best in her new chapter of life.
