Reviewing the CW show “Arrow”

At the bottom we have Oliver, or the Green Arrow. Its one of his old suits I think but on top there is a fade out of a front-side view of The Green Arrow.

After Oliver Queen, the son of a billionaire family, along with his father and his yacht known as the Queen’s Gambit went down in a storm, he was later found stranded five years later on an island known as Lian Yu 5. Making a promise to his dad who took his life so Oliver would live, when he returned to Starling City he promised he would fix his dad’s mistakes in an unexpected way.

I honestly thought that this show was going to suck. I usually prefer Marvel movies and some Marvel shows. DC was never my favorite since the movies were never that good so I had really low expectations for this show.

The show had great casting with Steven Amell being Oliver Queen and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance. Something cool were the training montages, the intense training that they show was awesome and you also have the epic fighting science. This show has hand-to-hand combat, knife fights, and sword fights and the flashbacks to what Oliver did during those five years are a nice completion. It exceeded my expectations.

There are of course other shows like Daredevil, which is a Marvel show. Both have characters who don’t have powers but are so good at something it’s unbelievable. Oliver is really good at aim and has heightened senses while Matt or Daredevil is blind but is really good at fighting and has a really good sense of his surroundings. It’s almost like he isn’t blind. Of course both shows have crossovers. Daredevil has some with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron fist, and Punisher that they even made into a separate show. But Arrow has some with The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, DC legends of Tomorrow, and even Black Lightning which are hilarious and well written. Arrow along with everyone grows.

There are differences: they work hard together in Crisis on Infinite Earths, the final crossover from Arrow as it’s where he dies. The crossover not only was emotional but it was something that the writers used to continue future shows as well as the future of the DC show universe.

This show is great for so many reasons, of course with the occasional cliche it also includes magic and characters like John Constantine, Malcolm Merely, and Damien Darkhe. So if you’re someone who likes fighting scenes and doesn’t mind the occasional cliche then this show would be lovely for you.
